shocking fact of US

After watching this video, I can’t help but wonder how US can generate such a high economic output. Well, the video tells us: one of the reasons is its free-market economy.

Free-market economy=laissez faire=market economy. It is the system that is free from intervention of the government. The link below explains how market economy works for US:

But is market economy the best system for a country? I couldn’t find the answer yet. Somehow I think government’s intervention is needed sometimes to regulate production/ balance resources^_^.
